Common questions

Understand your results

Practical details about privacy, accuracy, and browser support.

Which hardware can I test in the browser?

You can test keyboard and mouse input, cameras, microphones, speakers, displays, touchscreens, gamepads, HTTP latency, internet throughput, and browser-reported device capabilities.

Do camera and microphone tests upload media?

No. Previews, signal analysis, snapshots, and temporary recordings are processed in your browser unless you explicitly download a file.

Why can results differ between browsers?

Browsers expose different device APIs and permissions. Drivers, operating-system settings, display scaling, power state, and other applications can also affect results.

Can these tests confirm a hardware failure?

They help isolate symptoms and provide repeatable evidence, but a browser cannot inspect every driver, firmware, cable, or electrical condition.
