What it checks

Understand the result

  • Pointer registration and coordinates
  • Simultaneous touch-point count
  • Pressure and contact radius where exposed
  • Continuous trails across edges and possible dead zones
Troubleshooting

Common problems

  • Screen protectors, moisture, gloves, and charging noise can affect touch.
  • Some browsers report pressure as a simple fixed value.
  • Scrolling remains enabled outside the test canvas for accessibility.
Good to know

Privacy and browser limits

Most readings come directly from browser APIs and stay on your device. Operating systems, browser permissions, scaling, drivers, and hardware can affect what a page can observe.

For the cleanest result, use an up-to-date browser, keep the tab visible, and close apps that may already be using the device.

FAQ

Questions about the touch screen test

Is my test data uploaded?

No. This test runs locally in your browser. RatedTechTools does not receive or store the device data shown by the tool.

Why is pressure not changing?

Many capacitive screens and browsers do not expose real pressure data. The tool shows it only when Pointer Events provide it.

How do I find a dead zone?

Draw slow parallel lines across the whole canvas. Repeated gaps in the same location may indicate a problem.
